Monday was the first day of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, 2019. In honor of NEDAwareness Week, I am sharing some of my favorite eating disorder resources below.
NEDA – National Eating Disorder Association NEDA is a great place to start if you’re looking for ED resources. I’ve included a link to their site below as well as the phone number for their helpline and information for support via text messaging.

NEDA Helpline Phone Number:
1(800) 931-2237
The NEDA Helpline is available Monday-Thursday from 9AM to 9PM ET, and Friday from 9AM to 5PM ET. Contact the Helpline for support, resources and treatment options for yourself or a loved one.
For crisis situations, text “NEDA” to 741741 to be connected with a trained volunteer at Crisis Text Line.
ANAD – National Association of Anorexia Nervosa & Related Disorders The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, Inc. is a non-profit corporation which seeks to alleviate the problems of eating disorders, especially anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Like NEDA, they have a helpline available as well.
ANAD Helpline Phone Number:
1(630) 577-1330
Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm CT
AED – Academy for Eating Disorders AED is a great international resource for those looking for research, knowledge, and/or support for eating disorders worldwide.
BEDA – Binge Eating Disorder Association BEDA is a national organization that is committed to helping those who suffer from BED as well as supporting professionals.
N.A.M.E.D – The National Eating Disorder Association for Males with Eating Disorders N.A.M.E.D is a great resource for boys and men who suffer from eating disorders. I’m so glad that this organization exists as eating disorders are often more common in men/boys than people realize.

*If you or someone you love is suffering from an eating disorder, it’s always best to seek the help of a mental health professional if you have not done so already. Please feel free to contact me if you need help. If I cannot help you myself for whatever reason, I’m more than happy to help you find someone who can.
